Remembering Mr. Sperling
Harvey B. Sperling, who served as USM's sixth headmaster, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the age of 82, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Harvey was a beloved member of the school community and also a passionate advocate for education and philanthropic support. We remembered Mr. Sperling in a community message on our website. We are grateful for Mr. Sperling's leadership, and our thoughts are with his family and friends. You can honor Mr. Sperling's legacy by designating a gift to the Sperling Memorial Fund.
Remembering Mr. Bergen
This past fall, the USM community lost beloved former Upper School math teacher Tom Bergen. Mr. Bergen taught math at Milwaukee Downer Seminary and USM for 41 years, and was the last faculty member from MDS to teach at USM. We remembered Mr. Bergen in the most recent issue of USM Today magazine, and we are grateful for his contributions to our school, students, and community. You can honor Mr. Bergen's legacy by designating a gift to the Tom Bergen Fund for Mathematics, Science, and Technology.
