Fall/Winter 2020-21 USM Today Now Available
The fall/winter issue of the USM Today magazine is hot off the presses and will arrive in mailboxes soon, or you can view the online version here. You'll read about lessons learned by USM alumni while working during the COVID-19 pandemic, students who run their own successful businesses, and Steve Hancock and his family.
Greetings from Head of School Steve Hancock
As I reflect on my first six months as the head of school at University School of Milwaukee, I am thankful for the opportunity to lead this amazing school. The global pandemic has changed many of the ways we must operate as a school, but I am pleased to report that our Mission and Common Trust continue to be at the center of all we do. Building community is very important to me and I can’t wait to hear your stories and get to know you. Once travel is more possible, I look forward to visiting alumni near and far to share the great work of the school and to learn more from you. I am looking forward to celebrating USM’s Reunion Weekend with you, virtually, on June 17 and18. All the best to you and your families.

Your Support Matters!
While our school was able to successfully re-open for in-person and distance learning in September, we are still faced with the ever-changing landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to keep our school safely open while supporting our school families who have found themselves with unexpected financial hardships, we established the Bridge Fund, a new designated fund within our USM Fund annual giving program.

The Bridge Fund ensures that USM is in a position to provide flexible financial support for unforeseen needs and expenses for our school resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes:
  • Providing current USM families with short-term tuition relief as needed
  • Increasing school health- and safety-related initiatives to keep our campus open
  • Supporting additional professional development opportunities for our faculty and staff
  • Providing necessary resources for Head of School Steve Hancock to respond to unanticipated mission-focused priorities stemming from the pandemic

All gifts consistently support an excellent educational experience for our students. Thank you to all who have contributed this school year. If you haven’t yet made a gift, please consider making your best gift to our school this year through both the USM Fund and the newly established Bridge Fund at www.usmk12.org/usmfund.
